Hello!

You are not in the Mountains, the mountains are in you. ~ John Muir

When I was a little girl, my parents owned a van that had been outfitted for camping; the seats replaced with a bed, a sofa, and a tiny kitchen. Tacked up over one interior side panel was a crocheted mural of Mt. Whitney. Some of my earliest memories are of camping trips in that van; sleeping beneath the frayed and sun-bleached peaks of Mt. Whitney, trekking through the wilderness with my dad, and later, returning to camp and reading books by lamplight with my mom.  Looking back on my childhood, I guess it’s not surprising that I grew up to love writing and outdoor adventures.

I also love sharing these interests with others, which brings us to this, my first official blog post!  I hope to use this blog as a space to record my own thoughts, anecdotes, and adventures, and also to connect with others and hopefully make some new friends along the way. So if you’ve somehow stumbled upon this site, I’d love to get to know you as well!  Please leave a comment, ask a question, tell a story, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!
